01.09.2007 Another new addition to the fleet
Today we have taken delivery of a new 32tonne DAF CF85 FAX 8 x 2 rigid vehicle with hydraulic rear steering, and fitted with a FASSI F600 AXP hydraulic lorry loader.
DAF was chosen as our preffered marque to compliment our existing fleet of DAF and Foden tractor units
The initial design concept was developed in January 2007 and outline drawings submitted to both DAF and Fassi factories for their comments. With the conecpt given the go ahead, orders were placed on the major suppliers and detailed drawings were produced in house using our 3d CAD systems and manufacturered to our exacting requirements in Belgium, Holland, Ellesmere Port and Maldon, Essex.
The chassis arrived late in March then shipped to Belgium and was completed by the body builders in early August.
The Fassi crane was chosen due to its compactness and weight advantage allowing more payload and load deck space. The crane has a lifting capacity of 4500 Kgs at a radius of 11.8m
A new flat bed drawbar trailer is currently on order to allow even more load space and carrying capacity
